The Wahrlach-Cornett building Co. circa 1900, on the corner of Main St. and Gabilin in downtown Salinas.
E. Peter Iverson, who made Salinas his home in 1868, was a stockholder and director of the grocery and hardware business. Iverson was considered one of Salinas’s most public-spirited citizens by his community involvement in the city council and school board.
Today, the iconic corner is home to local businesses and a popular breakfast spot.
