Someone had to have a parade! Monterey is always good for a celebration. The parade starts at 10:00and the route goes down Alvarado and Calle Principal in the center of town. Afterwards there will be bands and BBQ at the lawn in front of Colton Hall.
Not to be left out the Wharf businesses will be celebrating with stiltwalkers, Uncle Sam, and an orchestra . Swing by the wharf while checking out the many other diversions that are within the distance of a short walk. You won't regret it.
In Custom House Plaza you will find a number of people dressed in unusual clothing and doing strange things. Don't worry, they are re-enactors displaying the clothing and activities of the previous inhabitants of the area. People from the many cultures and eras that make up the rich history of Monterey County will be represented. […]
You are invited to come over and find something to eat and an activity to amuse yourself and any youngsters that might be in your party. PG will have a variety of activities including a reading of the Declaration of Independence,music, food, face painting, and bounce houses.
Rock out to an original American genre of music. Seaside's City Hall Lawn will be filled with dancers, listeners and lots of fun activities happening with the soundtrack of some talented local blues artists. From 11-3.

At Central Park, next to Hartnell College, the City of Salinas will be hosting a celebration of the Fourth of July. There will be some "Safe and Sane "fireworks, jump houses, and more activities for the family.
