In light of recent events the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Monterey Peninsula has sponsored a group that is presenting Paul Kivel, author and speaker, who will talk on the topic of racism and the ways that a community may work to limit its spread and effects on that community.

Spector Dance brings to town their annual collection of choreographers from around the state and the nation. They present their work and offer classes to dancers. Two performances will be presented to the public.

Recently, the city of Salinas participated in a program called, "The Big Read". The book, "Citizen" by Claudia Rankin, was the featured item in this activity. Here we will  have dramatic readings of passages from that book. They will be presented by members of the community
