88th Annual Merienda

What is this? It is the celebration of 249 years of Monterey’s history. A sort of birthday party for the town, it includes mariachis, dancing, food, and costumes of the founding era. It is a colorful and interesting event, unique in its flavor and history. It all happens in the Memory Garden, a special part of the State Historical Park.
