15th Annual Hiroshima & Nagasaki Remembrance Day

After the destruction of the A-Bombs and the resulting horrors of the radiation, the world decided that these weapons are much too horrible to ever be used again. In commemoration of the hundreds of thousands of people killed in those attacks local citizens decided to remember by evoking aspects of Japanese culture into  a remembrance ceremony. There will be music, speeches, and lantern making. The lanterns are to be used in a ceremony which involves the floating of these lanterns out onto the water of the bay.
